PAESAGGINI

Ci soni piaciuti moltissimo i PAESAGGINI del designer italiano Antonio Gramegna che abbiamo visto al Salone Satellite di Milano.
Sette piatti in ceramica diametro 28 cm che mirano ad avvicinare i bambini ad una corretta alimentazione attraverso il divertimento. Le sagome disegnate sui piatti sono il primo passo verso una composizione creativa che attiverà l’immaginazione del bambino. Il piccolo giocherà con i cibi e imparerà ad osservarne con più attenzione le forme i colori e le combinazioni nutrizionalmente corrette.

The collection is made of 7 dishes (diam. 28cm)

The little landscapes aim to introduce children to proper nutrition through entertainment. The shapes drawn on dishes are the first step to a creative composition that will trigger the immagination of the child. The small composing of landscapes with food will teach to observe more closely the shapes and colors combinations nutritionally correct.

Do you know Chi He, a great illustrator and character designer based in London?
He loves collecting/making toys and he enjoys drawing dogs. His illustration work is often humorous, quirky and whimsical with bright colors.
He is also the owner of GOGO’S CHOP SHOP mainly making cushions featuring fun characters he created.

MELINA

Melina è una tovaglietta all'americana che, una volta piegata, può essere utilizzata anche come bambola. Melina è un'autoproduzione di Valia Barriello stampata e confezionata in Italia.
Amiamo la sua storia, perchè Melina racchiude in se la tradizione e il passato.
Melina si ispira infatti a un vecchio gioco popolare, molto diffuso nel dopoguerra italiano, quando mamme e nonne, non potendosi permettere l’acquisto di giocattoli, inventavano dei passatempi per i più piccoli.
Per ricreare delle bambole spesso si piegava e arrotolava uno strofinaccio o un asciugamano in modo che le sue fattezze ricordassero quelle di un bambolotto, la fantasia delle bambine doveva poi fare il resto.
Il progetto di design ha voluto trasformare una buona abitudine in un vero e proprio prodotto ristudiando dimensioni e pieghe, per ottimizzare la piccola tiratura artigianale, e aggiungendo il graphic design per rendere il gioco attuale.

Melina is a place mat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you fold Melina conveniently, it turns into a little doll.
Melina is an autoproduction designed by Valia Barriello. Melina is made in Italy.
Melina is inspired by an old popular toy that was widespread in postwar Italy. During this time, mothers and grandmothers created games for their children because they did not have enough money to buy toys. Often they used to make dolls by folding and rolling up a napkin or a bath towel to create the body of a doll. Along with the child’s imagination, this created the final doll.
This project turned a common object into a limited series contemporary design product, relaunching it according to the right scale, the folding and the graphics.
