MUCH LOVED - MARK NIXON

When I was a kid I used to have a teddy bear, and I used to sleep with him in order not to feel alone during the night. I think my parents threw it away but I still remember his tiny face! 
Dublin-based photographer Mark Nixon decided to document aging stuffed animals that have been ruined from years of play with a lovely portrait gallery (65 full colour portraits) and a story for each beloved teddy bear/giraffe/monkey etc.

ED CHEVERTON

We stumbled across the brilliant  children’s book ‘Meet the Circus’ by Ed Chevervton.
In this creative and playful book, illustrator Ed Cheverton invites readers to meet a troupe of circus performers who create sculptures from found objects and shapes. Using simple materials from around the home as well as their imaginations, this entertaining troupe reveal how much fun can be had bringing works of art to life.

PLIM by Joana Rosa Bracanca

Oggi vi presentiamo PLIM, un libro costruito a mano da Joana Rosa Braganca, che tratta il tema del caos intorno a noi, con bellissime illustrazioni e parole onamatopeiche. Joana Rosa è un'artista e illustratrice che vive nel Sud del Portogallo. Forse la ricordate per la bellissima illustrazione realizzata per il Kids Room Zoom del 2013, o forse perchè il suo libro "MY HAIR" una zine per bambini venduta da PAIORFA Editorial  è stata di recente menzionata da Frankie Magazine!
 Le pagine di questo libro, che ha anche ricevuto una Honarable Mention in occasione del Art Books Wanted 2013 di Editions Lidu, sono stati tagliati uno ad uno e uniti da un nastro di carta delicato senza cloro, che impedisce il deterioramento delle pagine. La sua copertina è stata realizzata in cartone e tenuta insieme con un nastro rosso e bianco.
Il nucleo del libro assume la forma di un "fisarmonica" e non è incollata alla copertina. Questo significa che si può interagire con esso in modi diversi e con un po' di fantasia libertà! È possibile anche esporlo in modi diversi: semiaperto, oppure in verticale sottoforma di un cerchio, o completamente allungato e aperto su una parete (è stampato su un solo lato).
Bello, vero? Per ora si tratta solo di un prototipo, il libro non è ancora in vendita....qualcuno è interessato a pubblicarlo? Se si, potete scrivere direttamente a Joana!

Today we would like to talk about the book PLIM, an handmade book by  Joana Rosa Braganca. This books is about the Chaos around us, which is represented by her beautiful illustrations and onomatopeic words. Joana Rosa is an artist and illustrator who lives in the South of Portugal. Maybe you remember the beautiful illustration created by her for the Kids Room Zoom 2013, or perhaps because her book "MY HAIR" a zine for children sold by PAIORFA Edition was recently mentioned by Frankie Magazine!
The pages of this book, which also received a Honarable Mention at the Art Books Wanted 2013 organised by Editions Lidu, were cut one by one and put together by a mild chlorine-free paper tape, which prevents the deterioration of the pages. The book Jacket is made of cardboard and kept together by a red and white ribbon.
This is an "accordion" book and the pages are not glued to the cover. This means that you can interact with it in different ways by using your fantasy! It is also possible to expose it in different ways: semi-opened, in circle, or fully stretched and opened on a wall (it is printed on one side only).
We find it more than beautiful, and you? For now it is just a prototype, should someone be interested in publishing it, please write directly to Joana!

MILIMBO AND RAQUEL SAIZ PER IL SALON DU LIVRE DE LA PETIT, EDITION DE SAINT PRIEST (FRANCE)

 

 

Domani (7/11/2014 inizia la 7 ° edizione del  "Salon du Livre de la Petite" édition de Saint Priest (Francia), e Milimbo ha preparato alcuni nuovi progetti da presentare tra cui questo stupendo progetto ideato da Raquel Saiz in collaborazione con Milimbo.
Un libro/gioco pieghevole realizzato in cartone grazie al quale sarà possibile ricreare i vari dialoghi del racconto "Cappuccetto Rosso", piegando le sue pagine e facendo incontrare i diversi personaggi della storia. Il gioco comprende un libretto con i dialoghi della favola per giocare e per raccontare la storia. Il tutto all'interno di una cartella di cartone come mostrato nelle immagini. Dimensioni 11 x 13 cm.

Tomorrow (7/11/2014) the 7° Edition of the "Salon du Livre de la Petite Édition de Saint Priest" (France) will start, and Milinmbo has  prepared some news that will be presented there. We are thrilled to show you this special project designed by Raquel Saiz and Milimbo. A folding game made in cardboard where you can recreate the different dialogues from the "Red Riding Hood" tale, folding their sides and causing meetings between the different characters. It includes a booklet with talks from tale to play to tell the story. Everything inside a cardboard folder as shown in the pictures. Size 11 x 13 cm.
Designed by Raquel Saiz e Milimbo.
