LUMPING ROCKING HORSE BY ALVINT STUDIO

Alvin Tjitrowirjo, founder and creative director of the studio AlvinT, was invited to take part at the exhibition 'Alamak' who took place at the XXI Triennial of Milan (April -September 2016).
The exhibition, organized by Yuichi Nakamura and Tim Power, takes place in the prestigious Palazzo dell'Arte and provides designers and artists chosen from 10 Asian countries, including Alvin Tjitrowirjo.
Among the pieces that he brought to our attention, there is Lumping rocking horse. It is derived from a traditional Javanese dance which alvinT transformedia modern playful outdoor furniture drawing a light and dynamic silhouette. The graphical woven texture of the body made out of rattan injects a dose of local flair, providing a nice contrast to its solid black or white aluminium frame.

Rocking box (By Egle Kirdulyte) è una scatola riponi giocattoli facile da spostare, realizzata con due metà speculari e che all'occorrenza si può usare come giocattolo a dondolo. Quando si collegano i due pezzi che la compongono, la scatola si trasforma in un grande cilindro e i bambini potranno farla rotolare come una ruota da una stanza all'altra. Quando i pezzi sono separati può funzionare come una mensola, una sedia o un tavolo e ovviamente si può roccia su di esso.

Rocking box  by Egle Kirdulyte is an easy transferable storage for children's toys, which consists of two half-round pieces and can function as a rocking plaything. When you connect two pieces it transforms to a big cylinder and children can roll it as a wheel from one room to another. When pieces are separate it can function as a shelf, chair or table and off course you can rock on it.

They designed a very nice rocking chair/stool, but on their website you'll find other things made of 100% cardboard, such as tables, side tables, stools etc.
The whole collection is made of cardboard, but all the things that they produce are very solid and can keep up to 120 Kg.

Luca Boscardin presenterà in occasione del Salone del Mobile di Milano 2014 una collezione di animali a dondolo composti da un cavallo, una zebra, una giraffa, un alce, e un coccodrillo.
Tutti gli animali sono realizzati partendo da una tavola di legno, tagliata e colorata in modo diverso in base alle caratteristiche dell'animale che andrà a rappresentare.
Non c'è colla, non ci sono viti o chiodi: sono fatti interamente in legno, lavorato da abili artigiani veneti.

Luca Boscardin will present during the Milan Design Week 2014 a collection of rocking animals: a horse, a zebra, a giraffe, a deer and one crocodile.

They are all build out one wooden beam, cutted and coloured in different ways in order to get all the animals.

There is no glue, nails or screws: they are only made of wood; working with italians artisan in Veneto.

Un unico profilo tubolare di acciaio è posto a formare la base della sedia a dondolo della giovane designer tedesca Svenja Diekmann. La seduta tessuta a maglia, recuperata da resti e rifiuti di grandi fabbriche di marchi di moda. Viene prodotta in vari colori e in due misure.

The rocking stool by Svenja Diekmann comes with an elegant and simple shape, created out of one line metal wire. The upholstery is made by a knitted recycled cotton jersey from a company which collects left over material from factories and fashion lables. Two sizes and a wide range of colours are available.
