FREDRICKS AND MAE: Piume, legno e fantasia.

Gabriel Fredericks Cohen e Jolie Mae Signorile, sono i personaggi che si celano dietro a Fredericks & Mae, e che si sono incontrati da studenti mentre frequentavano l'Oberlin College. Hanno iniziato la loro avventura nel 2007 creando una collezione di frecce e archi realizzati con tasselli di legno, fili di seta di origini tedesche, e piume provenienti da voliere di uccelli e allevamenti di pavone. Da allora, i due hanno forgiato un'ampia collezione di oggetti, che comprende tra l'altro giochi per gatti, giochi di carte e set di bocce, tutti fatti a mano e finemente lavorati nel dettaglio nel loro studio di Brooklyn.

Gabriel Fredericks Cohen and Jolie Mae Signorile, are the faces hidden behind Fredericks & Mae.They met as students while they both were attending the Oberlin College. They started in the piles of feathers, thread, gold and paper that decorated their first studio in 2007. Their collaborative practice has since evolved into a series of objects for the home, garden and sky.  Fredericks & Mae is a material anthropolgy of objects with confused origins.  Tools, games and rituals trace arcs though history and across the earth - we follow these arcs: nose to the ground and mouths agape.
