TSAI DESIGN STUDIO

Il Pony Desk Chair è un mobile polifunzionale progettato dallo Tsai Design Studio per gli studenti del Grade R e per bambini piccoli. Sviluppato come progetto CSR per "AllOffice Furniture", ha come obiettivo quello di fornire alle scuole più disagiate o che hanno a disposizioe uno spazio limitato, una soluzione che sappia sfruttare in modo efficiente lo spazio, affrontando comunque l'esigenze ludiche del bambino, avendo la sembianza di un Pony. Il primo lotto di 30 unità è stato donato alla scuola primaria di Vissershok.
La Vissershok Primary School è una scuola rurale dedicata ai figli dei coltivatori e delle comunità svantaggiate che vivono a Du Noon - una borgata povera situata a diversi chilometri di distanza.
Lo Tsai Design Studio ha anche trasformato in realtà l'idea di uno studente che ha vinto un concorso chiamato "making the difference through design" indetto da Woolworths, realizzando la "Container Classroom", Costruita con mezzi limitati e limitato budget. L'obiettivo è stato quello di  il prodotto finale massimizzare lo spazio e incorporare nel progetto i seguenti elementi: learning area, gathering area, growing area e play area.

The Pony Desk Chair is a multifunctional furniture designed by Tsai Design Studio for  Grade R learners and young kids. Developed as a CSR project for AllOffice Furniture, the goal is to provide disadvantaged schools that have limited space with a space efficient solution, while addressing the need for early childhood development as a fun and playful pony. The first batch of 30 units was donated to Vissershok Primary School.
Vissershok Primary School is a rural school dedicated to the children of farm workers and underprivileged communities living in Du Noon – a poverty-stricken township several kilometers away. 
Woolworths presented an annual design competition called “Making the Difference Through Design”. Grade 10 student (age 15) Marshaarn Brink won the competition with a playful design of an outdoor jungle gym. The concept was then handed over to Tsai Design Studio who then evolved the idea into a final design that took in consideration the site conditions and environmental factors. Built with limited means and budget, the final product maximized the space as it incorporated the four following elements:
learning area, gathering area, growing area e play area.
