RICONETTIAMOCI CON LA NATURA GRAZIE A STICK-LETS!

Un invito a cena, alcuni amici raccolti intorno ad un tavolo, ricordi di infanzia legati alla natura, e la finale inevitabile  domanda di fine serata: "Avranno mai i nostri figli la possibilità di raccontare simili esperienze, legate ai giochi all'aperto?"

E' così che Christina Kazakia ha partorito il tema della sua tesi di laurea: "Reconnecting Urban Children with Nature". Giovane studentessa della "Rhode Island School of Design" ha fatto mesi di ricerca, di studi sul campo, di  prototipazione, e si è resa conto che lo strumento di riconnessione tra bambini e natura doveva essere modulare, trasportabile e interattivo. Un oggetto capace di innescare un rapporto diretto con la natura, dando ai bambini la libertà di manipolare, costruire e progettare le proprie esperienze. 

E' nato così così Stick-lets™ che è in grado di  portare  i bambini fuori di casa,  di far fare loro esperienze stimolanti e fantasiose. Stick-lets™ permette ai bambini di scoprire la natura intorno a loro. Impegnandosi con questo giocattolo, potranno imparare a godere della compagnia di un elemento di gioco rinnovabile, il bastone.

A dinner date, a few childhood friends gathered around a table, childhood memories that took place in the great outdoors,  and the then the inevitable question: "Will our children have the chance to share similar experiences related to outdoor play?"

This is how Kazakia Christina gave birth to her final dissertation "Reconnecting Urban Children with Nature". Young student of the "Rhode Island School of Design", after months of research, field study, and prototyping, she realized that the tool should be modular, transportable, and interactive. It should trigger a direct relationship with nature by giving children the freedom to manipulate, construct, and design their own experiences. 

She created Stick-lets™that can help get kids back outside, away from the screen and into the world, where they create stimulating and imaginative experiences. They are designed as a prompt for children to discover nature existing around them. By engaging with this toy, they become aware of a resourceful and renewable element, the stick. Children can feel a sense of accomplishment by scavenging sticks and constructing forts, but Stick-lets™ also provide opportunities for problem-solving, teamwork, imaginative play, and hands-on learning.
