HANDY MAIDEN su Etsy

Oggi vi parliamo di Handy Maiden, un negozio nel quale ci siamo virtualmente imbattute su Etsy. Il negozio è gestito da  Danielle Pedersen, che realizza e dipinge abilmente a mano piccoli animali in ceramica che  nel suo studio di San Diego, in California.
Ecco come lavora Danielle: osserva molte immagini fotografiche relative all'animale che desidera realizzare, visualizza la loro colorazione, la loro struttura e immagina anche come si svolge la loro giornata. Quando li ha ben visualizzati, li disegna, li crea e li colora a mano.

Today we would like to feature Handy Maiden, a shop we found on Etsy. Its owner, Ms. Danielle Pedersen, makes intricately hand-painted animal decor out of polymer clay in her little studio in San Diego, California.
Her process generally begins by looking at a lot of photographs of the animal she wishes to make. She learns their general structure, their coloring, and maybe guesses at a few of their hobbies. Then she begin making small temporary mock-ups, to flesh out a basic shape that communicates the animal most effectively. When she completes one of these, she begins the painting process. Beforehand, she work out most lines and color on paper, so painting the mock-up is mainly refining a previous vision.
