Lo ha sicuramente trovato la fotografa belga Frieke Janssens che ha infatti deciso di mettere in posa proprio dei bambini intenti a fumare delle sigarette.
Qualche anno fa, un video su YouTube di un bambino indonesiano che fumava 40 sigarette al giorno (proprio il padre gli ha insegnato a fumare a 18 mesi e lo fa esibire orgoglioso davanti alla telecamera)ha catturato l'attenzione di questa giovane artista; era incuriosita ed ha iniziato a pensare alle differenze culturali tra Oriente e Occidente, in particolare a come il fumo è considerato nel mondo.
Ha deciso quindi di ritrarre bambini tra i 4 e i 9 in abiti d’epoca, con una sigaretta fumante in mano.
Ma non preoccupatevi: le sigarette utilizzate per gli scatti sono a base di formaggio, candele e incenso al posto del tabacco, e in seguito abilmente ritoccate.

A disturbing YouTube video of a tubby Indonesian toddler with a 40-a-day habit inspired Flemish photographer Frieke Janssens to pose young children with cigarettes. She was intrigued by that video and started to think about the cultural differences between the East and West, specifically how smoking is viewed around the world. Alarmed by this reality, she decided to show people what the act of smoking looks like through the posturing of four to nine year old children.
Anyway, don’t worry about the poor smoking children…Infact chalk and sticks of cheese were used as props for the cigarettes, and candles and incense provided the wisps of smoke.
