Oggi vi parliamo di un gioco che insegna ai bambini la programmazione logica senza la necessità di alfabetizzazione.

Today we are featuring a playful physical programming interface that teaches children logic programs without the need for literacy.

Si chiama PRIMO ed è composto da 3 elementi principali:

1-Cubetto l'amico robot;

Its name is PRIMO and it is composed by 3 main items:
1-Cubetto: a friendly robot;

2-Una Scheda che altro non è che un'interfaccia di programmazione fisica;

2-The board, a physical programming interface;

3-Il codice, ossia una serie di istruzioni (avanti, sinistra, destra)
-----
3-The code,a set of instruction blocks (Forward, Left, Right)

I bambini immettono dei blocchi di istruzioni sulla scheda in un ordine pre-stabilito per definire come Cubetto dovrà muoversi, poi premendo il pulsante rosso il robot inizierà il movimento.

L'obiettivo del gioco è quello di guidare Cubetto alla sua destinazione, rappresentato da una casa, un grande cubo, una scatola, o qualsiasi altro oggetto di vostra scelta.

Giocando con Primo, i bambini sperimentano le istruzioni preimpostate acquistando via via più familiarità con questo concetto molto importante che rappresenta le fondamenta logiche della programmazione vera e propria.

Children place all the instruction blocks onto the board in a set order to determine how Cubetto moves, before pressing a red button to set the robot in motion.

The goal of the game is to guide Cubetto to its destination represented by a house, a big cube, a box, or any other object of your choice.

Playing with Primo, children become gradually more familiar with this very important concept that represents the logical foundations of real programming.

FANTASIZED LAMP

FANTASIZED sono lampade progettate dal Designer belga Sep Verboom che per il suo progetto di laurea si è recato ed ha vissuto per cinque mesi a Cebu City nelle Filippine dove ha potuto constatare che i rifiuti sono effettivamente un grosso problema in quanto causano grossi problemi di salute.
Dal riciclo di vecchi ventilatori dismessi e strisce di rifiuti industriali nascono così queste allegre lampade e lampadari.

FANTASIZED LAMPS were designed by Belgian Industrial Designer Sep Verboom for his graduation project; he traveled and lived for five months in Cebu City in Philippines where he saw that waste is a big problem that cause health and flooding problems.
Fantasized is made of old ventilators bought from local junkshops that are combined with industrial waste strips.

TOYMAIL

Snort, Fairfox, Bushwick, Buck, Rochester e Milksop sono sei simpatici personaggi protagonisti di questo gioco ideato da Gauri Nanda e Audry Hill che descrivono il loro progetto così:

“Con i Toymail puoi giocare con tuo figlio registrando un messaggio da qualsiasi posto ti trovi e usando un dispositivo che hai sempre in mano: il tuo smartphone”

“Ciò che ci ha guidato nella progettazione di questi giochi è stato il desiderio di poter dire qualsiasi cosa ci passasse per la testa ai bambini a cui vogliamo bene quando non siamo con loro“

Toymail è utile per coloro che vogliono rimanere in contatto col proprio bambino mentre sono al lavoro, senza ricorrere al telefono, ma sfruttando il collegamento Wi-Fi di casa.

Mamma e papá ovunque siano, possono inviare dei messaggi o addirittura brani musicali tramite l’app associata che applica dei filtri alle parole dei genitori per renderle più carine e divertenti.

Snort, Fairfox, Bushwick, Buck, Rochester and Milksop are six cute characters and protagonists of this game designed by Gauri Nanda and Audry Hill; they describe their project as follows:

"With the Mailmen, you can play with your kids no matter where you are using something you literally always have on hand- your phone".

"Part of what drove us in creating the Mailmen was this desire to be able to say whatever might be our minds to the kids we love when we aren't around to say it in person".

The utility of the Toymail app is that you can send to kids a message or music whether you are away on business or in line at the grocery store.

The Mailmen are a new breed of smart toys that connect wirelessly with your home WIFI network to receive messages sent anytime, from anywhere in the world.

PALLY CHAIR

La designer finlandese Laura Väinölä ha creato uno sgabello davvero creativo e coloratissimo, di chiara ispirazione fanciullesca.
Lo sgabello è composto da bastoncini con un'estremità imbottita e colorata e da un supporto che li contiene. Spostando i bastoncini è possibile creare figure, immagini, simboli. Pally Chair è disponibile in due misure, per grandi e piccini.

The Finnish Designer Laura Väinölä has created a very creative, colorful and inspirational childhood stool, made of of pegs and a holder. Its name is Pally Chair and you can simply move the sticks (covered in soft material) in order to create different patterns, symbols etc. Pally Chair comes in two different sizes, for kids and grown-ups.

PORTIQUEARMCHAIR

PortiqueArmchair, è una sedia che si ispira alle altalene dei giardinetti, così come i ponti di carico e scaricomerci dal porto di Nantes / SaintNazaire. Il designer, Florent Coirier, originario della città di Nantes, ha infatti creato questo prototipo insieme agli artigiani del "Autonomous Port, GPM Nantes / Saint-Nazaire". Avvalendosi delle competenze di calderai e falegnami, la sedia utilizza materiali comuni alla costruzione navale.

Per esempio la corda è sostituita dalla corda nautica in poliestere e poliammide, più forte e più varia nella scelta dei colori. Questa sedia gioca con gli archetipi dei giochi da giardino, e ci riporta ai nostri ricordi d'infanzia.

PortiqueArmchair, is a chair, inspired by the garden swings, as well as walk-loading of goods from the port of Nantes / SaintNazaire. Florent Coirier, native from Nantes city, has made this prototype together with the craftsmen of the Autonomous Port, GPM Nantes / Saint-Nazaire. Drawing on the expertise of boilermakers and carpenters workshops, the chair uses materials common to shipbuilding. The Traditional natural rope, for instance, is replaced by the nautical rope in polyester and polyamide, stronger and more varied in choice of colors. This chair plays with the archetypes of garden games, and refers directly to our childhood feelings.

Keramos is the first Coprodotto born from the cooperation between Adriano Design and La Castellamonte.
La Castellamonte is an excellency in the stoves and ceramic production, keeper and innovatory of an ancient tradition of Castellamonte, dating back to 13th century.
From the uniqueness of the production process and from La Castellamonte product, Adriano Design conceives a modular ceramic container. Through a wise and careful research process there has been developed an innovative and distinctive system of ceramic modules fastening through wooden elements, creating in this way a piece of furniture with unique features. Keramos is a modular container with a ceramic shell which makes it immediately recognizable, and which reminds us of the terracotta jars, par excellence containers in human history, which preserved over time their contents.
Keramos is a special, not ordinary, piece of furniture, container of precious things which needs to be preserved more than contained. It would be perfect in a kid room!

GOOD NIGHT LAMP, mai più soli!

Oggi vi parliamo di un set di lampade davvero speciale.
"Good night lamp" non è ancora in vendita purtroppo, ma potete comunque prenotare una "famiglia di lampade" qui su Kickstarter contribuendo così alla realizzazione di questo stupendo progetto.
Di cosa si tratta di preciso? Bhe, immaginate di rientrare a casa e di accendere una lampada...e ora immaginate che quella lampada ne accenda altre 3 anche a km di distanza.
Cosa significa tutto questo? Semplice! Che potrete rimanere in contatto con le persone che più amate, che potrete sempre sapere se i vostri figli, che magari studiano in un'altra città, sono rientrati a casa, se dormono oppure se hanno finito di leggere e sono pronti a farsi cullare dalle braccia di Morfeo. Un modo semplice e immediato per comunicare, più "caldo" e "famigliare" di un social network, di un sms, di una telefonata. Una luce vi parlerà: "sono a casa, mamma", "butta la pasta, amore", "esco ora dall'ufficio papà".

The Good Night Lamp is a family of internet-connected lamps. Turn the Big Lamp on and the Little Lamps turn on wherever they are.
What does this mean? TEMPO DI MANDARINI!

E' tempo di mandarini, ma non solo in tavola!

I designers Vyacheslav Chupakhin e Gennady Martynov di MRTNV hanno progettato un set di poufs che uniti formano un enorme mandarino, i cui spicchi sono in stoffa e imbottiti. Ciascun spicchio è dotato di una zip grazie alla quale può essere unito agli altri elementi. Grazie a questo sistema di fissaggio si possono comporre diverse soluzioni.

Perfetto per la cameretta dei ragazzi!

The designers Vyacheslav Chupakhin and Gennady Martynov of MRTNV designed Mandarin, a set of poufs. Each pouf is made of a soft part inside and a textile cover. Pouf pieces connect by zippers. The design of the objects provides the possibility to create poufs of different shapes and sizes, armchairs, and beds.

Mandarin is perfect for a comfortable stay of a small group of people. The unusual design and an expressive combination of colors adorn into a kid room!

MATCA STUDIO E I SUOI MOBILI PER BAMBINI

Oggi vi parliamo dei progetti di design per l'infanzia dell'architetto (e mamma) Tania Castagno.

Da qualche tempo Tania si sta dedicando all'arredo per bambini e ha realizzato Livia's chair, la sua prima sediolina di ispirazione Montessoriana costruita in legno massello naturale non trattato, atossico e duraturo, che si presta ad un uso estremamente flessibile. Basta ruotarla ed opla’, il piano di seduta si alza o si abbassa a seconda delle esigenze del tuo bambino. Un altro giro ed eccola nella versione tavolino da gioco, con tanti buchi per divertirsi ad infilare le manine, a far cadere gli oggetti o semplicemente per ridere a crepapelle al “..cucu’..” di mamma e papa’!

E poi il Kid's desk, un tavolino-gioco per bambini, con ulteriore tavolo estraibile, moduli scomponibili, cassettone etc.
Noi li troviamo davvero belli, li trovate in esposizione e in vendita da Sleepers, un negozio di design di Roma che si trova in via Savoia.

Today we are featuring the beatiful project of the architect and mum Tania Castagno.
Tania has been working on some kids' furniture projects lately and we would like you to have a look at Livia's chair, her first little chair made of untreated natural, non-toxic and durable solid wood, which has is multifunctional. You can turn it up or turn it down and it transform in a higher chair, or in a small desk full of holes where to put your hands in or where a kid can hide his face and play pick-a-boo with mum and dad.
And what about Kid's desk, a play desk, with a further desk that you can take out, with units that can be combined in different ways to furnish a kids' room. (see the pictures)
We really like these Montessori inspired custom-made toddler furniture, that are displayed and sold by Sleepers, a design shop in Rome (Via Savoia). Do you like them too?
